As a producer I often check around the net for remix competitions either to enter or to scout for talent. I stumbled across this bouncey track from the Spanish based Midibots who won a remix competition. It is a devastating take on the already Uffie's hit track A.D.D.S.U.V feat Pharrell Williams.
For those budding producers out there who are looking at entering remix competitions there are a number of great sites that list lots of remix competitions.
Ahead of the release of their debut album, The Warriors, the duo team up with Australian site inthemix.com.au to offer a chance to remix their latest single ‘Get Up’.

It's no secret I don't mind a Lil Jon track or two, and when you throw in Laidback Luke it's a recipe for success. This track has one of the biggest builds of any songs I've heard in a while. Check it out

The man behind the music Chris Emerson (who is celebrating his birthday as I am writing this!) was kind enough to answer some questions!
How do you go about making your tracks?
I just try to put a party friendly spin on my favorite tracks at the time. I'll pull apart a few different songs that sound nice together (helps if they're in key), layer the differnt vocals, groove, hookline, etc, change up the sequences & there you have it!
What is your most important tip to budding producers?
Producing is one of those things where the longer you do it, the more you realise how little you know. Best advice, get started a s early as possible, watch YouTube video's of the pro's & find a experianced person to give you a hand.
I'd suggest starting on something like ableton, making mashup, Bootlegs, etc. Keep an eye out for remix comp's! They're always a great way to get exposure

I've been trying to pull off this sound for a while, but this producer Wick-it does it without coming off too cheesy. Have a listen to these two tracks and make your mind up for yourself!!!
Two disco tracks here to drop. With two different vibes.
The first is by Utku S. It's the disco classic "Staying Alive" by the Bee Gees with a crazy pumping club edge added to it. This one is definitely for the DJs out there. It has an awesome build up and manages not to come off too cheesy like some disco remixes do.
The next one is a new Duck Sauce track released. It has a similar funky feel to it as other Duck Sauce tracks. It is definitely a hit in waiting, I just hope the radio doesn't get this one and flog it to death as they do with other club songs these days!
